Happy 80th to our firecracker Grandmommy!

We had a wonderful 80th birthday party for our Grandmommy on the 5th of July. Her b-day is the 4th but this year we had a huge Hawaiian themed party with family from all over. Valerie flew in from San Diego for the weekend and Aunt Valerie (the original) and Katie flew in from Houston. Grandmommy has been wanting to go to Hawaii so we decided to bring it to her! Aunt Gay had a lei shipped from the islands and my wonderful friends, Susan and Tim grilled up a storm (literally) of chicken kabobs in 4 different varieties for all of the allergies. Everyone had sweet gifts for Grandmommy that truly showed the amazing woman she has been to all of us. "All because two people fell in love", Lynn read a letter that Granddaddy had written to all of the grandchildren about Grandmommy. Chris and Amber read the 80 things we love about Grandmommy, which they compiled from all 30 of us. The first picture on this post says it all, that is the reason we all worked so hard and created this special day for her. TJ graciously took family photos of all of us and then photographed the entire party.

Happy Birthday America!

Happy 4th of July everyone! As many of you know the 4th is a favorite holiday in our house. We like to spend it as a relaxing family day with great food and some fun things for the boys. This year we met our cousins at the Tallyn's Reach celebration where they had pony rides, a petting zoo and a pool for the kids. The boys loved the ponies and Alex loved the tortoise in the petting zoo. After a relaxing nap we headed out to Mamo's house for our traditional BBQ and fireworks. This year we got three extra special treats, the boys Aunt Valerie came home for the weekend and our beloved cousins from Texas, Valerie (the original) and Katie came as well. It was so much fun to visit and share our favorite day with them!

Happy 6th!

Happy Birthday Alex! Alex celebrated his birthday with dual little parties. We took Lukas, Alex and Alexis to see Wall E the movie and then to have a picnic and splash in the fountains at Southlands. It was a wonderful day! That evening we had a small family party at the house, very relaxed with pizza and salad and a mini Wall E cake. Alex had so much fun and was so happy everyone wanted to celebrate his birthday with him.
It seems like it has been all about Alex lately but don't worry, fall is Lukas' time, soccer and birthday time is coming.
