1st Day of 2nd and 3rd Grade

It does not seem possible but my boys started 2nd and 3rd grade today. I had to stop myself from asking them "how big are you" and then answering "Soooo BIG!" like I did when they were babies. They both had a great first day proving my 1st day of school jitters to be unnecessary. Here we go again!

Last chance before school

Just a little weekend in the mountains before school starts
I have no idea what they are doing but it was hilarious

Too bad it is not prettier here

Check out that smile!

Swim Lessons Take 4

For years we have tried swim lessons off and on but they just never took to it. Don't get me wrong, they love water but the safety and strokes were not sinking in. Finally this summer my wonderful Mother-in-Law signed the boys up for swim lessons at our local pool;
googles + time + a great teacher= swimming in no time!
Thank you Marle!

Practicing
Alex can float!
Lukas can float!
Lukas is swimming!!!
So proud!
Alex is swimming!
So happy!

Elbert County Fair

Goats with Mamo
Alex took this picture! I might have a little photographer on my hands!
and this one...
and this one.
Llama
Turkey
Pig
They were sleeping all cuddled up and I just could not resist their cute little feet!
Bunny- yep, this is just about when we found out Lukas is allergic to bunnies!
Crazy curly haired goats

We spent the day at the Elbert County Fair and the boys had a great time seeing and petting all the animals with Mamo. It was the cow competition the day we went and one of the ladies let the boys pet her calf before the contest. Great day!

Lukas' 1st Babysitting Job

The boys had a blast when we babysat Kevin and Tesa's two dogs that are more like children. Lukas was kept quite busy but as you can tell he just hated every minute of it!
Jackson and Lukas under their favorite tree.
They played and laid there for over an hour at a time!
Molly and Jackson giving Lukas lots of love
If you have a dog who cannot think of anything but a ball and you have a child who can think of nothing but his DS, this is apparently the solution.

Thanks Dad!

Happy Birthday to us! Every year Cathryn and I go see Tim McGraw in concert. It has always worked out that we get the tickets for my birthday and we go the week of her birthday. Fabulous timing! This year my Dad gave me wonderful tickets for my birthday present and wow the seats were amazing! 12th row at Fiddlers is so close it is ridiculous! Of course in our excitement, we both forgot our cameras so cell phone pictures is all we have to share.
Lady Antebellum opening for Tim,
they were sooooo good we are going to try and see them again in November.
Ok, that shadow is him and this is about where I can't breathe for the next 2 hours!
A lot of Tim's band members have been with him from the beginning, we are talking 20+ years! Little fact, Tim McGraw is a rare artist because he uses the same band for touring and studio. This particular member getting a hug from the man has been with him 22 years and is being inducted into the musicians hall of fame. He is from a little town in Iowa and you could tell Tim was gushing with pride when he was making the big announcement. Tim said the day he is inducted they are streaming their concert live in his hometown. I have a feeling it will be the event of the year!
He is singing my favorite song that has not been on the playlist in years. So excited!
We took 100 pictures with my phone that night and a few came out ok, think this one is the best.
Pure bliss!
Thank you Dad! Oh and we are spoiled and cannot ever have crummy seats again!
