Project Day at Mamo's

Mamo, Pappy, Daddy and Mommy were heading down to Texas for the Easter weekend so we had to do our Easter crafts early. We went to Mamo's and spent the day baking cupcakes, dying eggs and then taking a field trip to see the baby ducks, chicks and bunnies at Big R.

Ok, remember new camera so it is fuzzy but I just cannot resist this picture still. Mamo is letting them lick the batter off of the whisk... together.
We filled them a bit too much!
Time for dying eggs while the cupcakes cool
Very serious work!
All of our pretty colors
Our egg for our little Snail
Our finished products
Alex's cupcake for Daddy because he loves Whopper eggs
Our finished cupcakes "bird's nests"
Happy face
This is what a sugar coma looks like, remember Lukas gets them a lot when Mamo is around. I don't even think he knows it is going into his nose!

I don't have any pictures of the field trip to see the baby animals because Mamo and I forgot about the "but I want to take one home" issue. Fun!

Park Date with Cousins

We have quite a large family and a lot of them live close to us so we try to get the kids together as much as possible. Alex and Lukas are 2 of the 3 oldest kids and of the many many cousins. We have so many generations of cousins but we don't categorize like second cousins, third cousins, they are just cousins and family most importantly. My mom and I counted recently and that means we have 26 cousins in Texas and 20 in Colorado!
We are so incredibly lucky to have such a close, BIG family!
This is one of many play dates with cousins. This is also the first day I am using my new camera and I obviously had no idea what I was doing but they will get better!

The Perfect Game

11 years ago Wilson and I started going to hockey games together and I instantly fell in love (well, with him and hockey). 3 years later we were sitting in an Avalanche playoff game planning to take our little bun in the oven when he was old enough. We waited, when Alex arrived because the Pepsi center has broken records for how loud it can be during a hockey game. Then Lukas came and we waited some more. Finally 8 years after we sat in the playoff game planning, we took our boys to their first NHL game!
The game was truly perfect! We went to the stadium and the boys were in awe. We made a trip to the souvenir shop and they both picked out a hat and a foam finger. They were already decked out in their new Avs gear but how many times do you go to your first hockey game?!

Upstairs there is this display of the progression of goalie masks, here is Alex in the current one.
I honestly don't know what other teams do but the Avalanche have a pretty cool opening to the game that the boys just couldn't miss
We sit on the 3rd floor or nosebleed section on purpose every game, it is the best view of the whole ice.
Happy boys

Lukas cheering, he told me that he was "giving joy to the Avalanche"!
This is the face of bliss when the Avs score their 6th goal and the Blues have 2. This is also the point when Lukas told me "We are like their biggest horror right now!" Oh, they learn so young!
At one point in the game the Blues knocked down our goalie which in certain ways is not ok so true to my favorite players nature he clobbered the guy in the next play. Lukas said "that's right he said, SIT DOWN!" It was hilarious! They also loved that you can scream as loud as you want!
My boys and a view of the ice
Avs only picture, sorry Daddy
Alex was done with pictures but Lukas will always give me one more.
Final score, Avalanche 7- Blues 3

Hockey tickets $124
Souvenir shop $50
The perfect game... priceless!

Cousin's Zoo Trip

We had a wonderful Spring trip to the zoo today with some of Alex and Lukas' cousins! The weather was perfect, the kids were adorable and the animals were out enjoying the weather too. 6 of the 10 cousin's includes, Sophie (in Alex's lap), Alex, Eva, Christopher (in Lukas' lap) and Lukas!
The big kids
Betcha can't guess who the hams are!?
Ok I could not decide between this one and the first picture but look at Sophie's smile! It has to go in as well!
Up, Down, Up, Down
It is really too bad Eva isn't pretty. Just kidding!
Two peas in a pod
Climbing on the Hippos
Christopher and Chris
They loved feeding the Lorikeets

Go Rams! Sorry, couldn't resist!

Spring has Sprung and Tomorrow it will Snow!
