Girls Weekend

Girls Weekend 2012
This weekend was a LONG time coming! As in, Heather and I started talking about it when we met in high school and only 18 years later we made it happen.  I will say that now that we know how much fun it was, we can hardly wait for next year!
On the first day, Heather and I spent a great day in San Diego but since the pictures are on her computer, on to the second.

Days 2-4 we spent at our family's cabin in Big Bear.  Lots of food, wine and laughs.  It was perfect!
Starting the day with Mimosas
Then onto our "spa homemade" treatments

We went into town to catch a Reese Witherspoon movie and it turned out to give us a theme for our weekend.  "If you're going to hell, I will be there to pick you up."  I think it is the perfect line for a bunch of girls that I would do anything for.

Valerie's now famous grilled cheese

I love this one!  I took most of the weekend off from pictures, it was part of my relaxation oddly enough.  Most of these gorgeous shots are Cathryn's.  Thank you Cath!

My girls- Cathryn, Heather, Valerie, Me and Wendy

We saw 2 girls making this snowlady on our walk around the lake and we thought it was so appropriate!
On the way down to SD from Big Bear we just had to stop at my favorite vineyard which just happens to be appropriately named for Heather and I.

I am not sure there is anything more appropriate for my little sister and I than this picture.

I love these shots!  Cathryn captured it perfectly

Back in San Diego...
My Dad and I at our favorite local coffee spot- Bird Rock Coffee

Cath and I spent the last few precious girls weekend hours in La Jolla.  I think we made the best of our time...

Yes, I think we did!

I can't wait for Girls Weekend 2013!

Alex's Guys Night Out

Lukas had a night out with Mama so Alex had a Guys Night Out with Daddy.
I bought them tickets to the Avs game which only later was announced to be the Military Appreciation Night, I could not have planned anything more perfect!
The Avs wore camo jersey's during warm-up.
Go Giggy!
We of course love this player!

Welcome Home Dad!

Dad and Grandpa go for a guys only weekend to Vegas for the Super Bowl every year. He is only gone for 3 days but for the boys that is an eternity! They made him Welcome Home signs and I just could not resist their cuteness!

Lukas' sign posted on our bedroom door. "Shhh, Mom don't tell him until he sees it!"

Super Bowl

Go Giants! My little boy was so excited for the Super Bowl! Apparently since Tebow did not make it to the Super Bowl, a Manning brother was the next best thing. He said he did not like the Patriots because they have a bad attitude. Dad thought that was a good enough reason to let him wear his jersey. He was hilarious! I seriously thought I had a teenager in my house; yelling at the TV, hollering, cheering and of course calling his Mama in to watch the commercials. Since we were still snowed in and Dad was in Vegas for the weekend we decided to take the official measurement for him.

I had to dig a hole for the tape measure because there was so much snow!
The official measurement in our backyard...17"!

Snow Day Take 2 or 12

I think this is technically only our 2nd snow day of the year. It feels like our 12th but I think it is the 2nd. We decided to make the most of the weather and have snow everything!

1st step- Snow Milkshakes for breakfast!

2nd step- Lots and lots of sledding!
First to make the ramp. There was so much snow that they had to push Lexi down on the saucer to squish it down so they could slide. I love this, Lukas is pushing Lexi and Alex is pushing Lukas! I was laughing too hard to say anything.
Sweet girl
Whee-Whee-Weeeeeeeee!
My boys sliding!
There she goes!
Mr BP (that stands for Blue Penguin)
I love love love this picture! I am framing it immediately!
3rd step- The aftermath of wet clothes, good thing it is dry here!

4th step- An orange lunch. Apparently when you have a snow day you need a lunch that is entirely orange. GF Mac & Cheese, Oranges, Popchips, Carrots and OJ hit the spot.

I love this picture too, it is so telling!
